Southern California Orthopedic Institute places the highest priority on the safety of our patients, staff and providers, while maintaining high-quality clinical care at all our facilities. In an effort to protect everyone, we ask that you work with us to minimize the risk of infection and spreading of germs.

• If you are ill, have a fever, cough, or respiratory condition, have a compromised immune system, are in any other group that may be at an increased risk of contracting an illness like the Coronavirus Disease, please refrain from coming to your appointment until cleared by your primary care provider. Please call us to let us know if you need to postpone or reschedule your appointment, or if you would like to use our telemedicine option.
• Please refrain from bringing anyone else with you to the appointment, other than a parent/legal guardian or care provider. Please do not bring children who are not being seen as patients to our office, for their safety and the safety of our other patients and staff.
• We are also making remote telemedicine consultations available to our patients.

Should I keep my appointment with my SCOI provider?Yes. Patients face no additional risk in our facilities. Please keep existing appointments, unless you are feeling unwell. If you are experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath, please contact our office at 901-6600 to reschedule your appointment. All of our clinics, surgery centers, and other facilities remain open to serve the musculoskeletal needs of the community.

Should I wear a facemask?In compliance with CDC, local and federal guidelines, we require all patients and visitors coming into our buildings to have a face covering. If you do not have one, we will provide a facemask for you, when available.

What is the current level of risk for novel Coronavirus?The CDC says the immediate health risk to the general public in the U.S. is still considered low, even as additional cases are expected. For most people, the novel coronavirus produces a mild illness, and many of those infected dont even know they have it. As with influenza, in some cases it can lead to serious illness such as pneumonia and death. It appears that the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions are most susceptible.
