Steven K. Jordan, MD, FAAOS is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon and Partner of South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. He attended college and medical school at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Dr. Jordan completed his orthopaedic surgery training at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in 2001. Before joining South Florida Orthopaedics in 2006, he served as Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Texas A& M Health Sciences Center. Dr. Jordan utilizes the latest technologies and innovative techniques in minimally invasive knee replacement surgery and has extensive experience in the direct anterior approach, minimally invasive posterior approach and anterior-lateral approach in hip replacement. Dr. Jordan also treats athletic injuries and fractures. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the Southern Orthopaedic Association, and Florida Orthopaedic Society.

An orthopaedic surgeon is trained in the preservation, investigation and restoration of the form and function of the extremities, spine and associated structures by medical, surgical and physical means. An orthopaedic surgeon is involved with the care of patients whose musculoskeletal problems include congenital deformities, trauma, infections, tumors, metabolic disturbances of the musculoskeletal system, deformities, injuries and degenerative diseases of the spine, hands, feet, knee, hip, shoulder and elbow in children and adults. An orthopaedic surgeon is also concerned with primary and secondary muscular problems and the effects of central or peripheral nervous system lesions of the musculoskeletal system.
