What Is The Fragility Fracture Program

Baptist Health Orthopedic Care is the only institution in the region with a formal fragility fracture program. This program involves getting patients with fragility fractures seen, diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible, with most patients out of the operating room less than 24 hours after they first arrive in the Emergency Room. Additionally, the trauma surgeons help identify when a patients bone fracture likely resulted from an underlying condition, such as osteoporosis. These patients are then referred to a physician who helps them manage their recovery and their underlying condition to reduce the risk of future fractures or injuries.

Florida Orthopaedic Institute provides Certified Athletic Trainers and Board Certified, Sports Medicine orthopedic surgeons and primary sports medicine physicians for recreational, scholastic and collegiate athletes throughout the Tampa Bay area.
