What Is The Joint Camp Program

Most patients follow the Joint Camp Program in the order below. This program is designed to help patients take a proactive approach and has been proven to result in a faster, more successful recovery process following joint replacement surgery.

Primary Care Physician & Orthopedic Surgeon Clinic Visit

Many patients joint replacement journey starts with their primary care physician. To kickoff your care plan, its recommended you consult with your primary care physician if you are experiencing excessive, consistent hip or knee pain. Dont have a primary care physician? Call Access2Health at 515- 243-2584 for assistance locating a primary care physician close to your home, work or school. With just one call, you find a doctor, schedule an appointment or speak with a nurse.

Joint Camp Pre-Op Class

When you and your surgeon have decided to move forward with joint replacement surgery, you will need to get in touch with our Joint Camp Educator. Due to COVID-19 we have moved our pre-op education experience online instead of in person. You will receive a detailed Joint Camp Education Handbook. Once we have an email we will sign you up for a supportive email series. One of the emails will contain a recorded video of joint camp pre-op class for you and your coach to watch. After watching the video and reading through your joint camp book youll feel more comfortable and knowledgeable about your upcoming surgery.
