Sanford 26th & Sycamore Acute Care And Orthopedic Fast Track Clinic Reviews

Went in to be tested for a UTI . Got in right away. The nurse was very helpful. Only problem I have every time I go to the lab when I get done .. I forget where I came from what room I was in. This last time she waiting for me took me back to my room. Came back to tell me that I was right about having a UTI put me on some antibiotics for 5days twice a day. Answered all my questions and concerns.. she was very helpful.

I went in with a laceration on my hand not knowing if it should have stitches. A nurse came out immediately and took me to the back. The nurse was very friendly and helpful. The nurse practitioner was also friendly and stitched me up.

We were visiting from out of town when my daughter became very sick. The front desk, nurse, and the nurse practitioner were all fantastic. They were fast, friendly and thorough. Great care, and great bedside manner with my daughter. Thank you!

Avera Offers Care After 5 Pm For Sprains Pains Illnesses

This paid piece is sponsored by Avera Health.

Sore throats and twisted ankles dont follow any human schedules. Thats why urgent care can be a wonderful option after 5 p.m. in Sioux Falls. Avera continues to expand its offerings of this convenient option for anyone facing an untimely illness or injury.

Were excited to offer more services that fit the lives of our patients, said Bridget Fechner, a registered nurse and the clinic manager with Avera Medical Group Family Health Center Dawley Farm, who also leads Avera Urgent Care.

Another easy-to-use feature Avera offers patients and families is the online save a place in line service. With a single click, youll see wait times at each site, and you can get your name on the list. The service will text to share information about wait times.

With cold, flu and RSV season really coming on, were seeing more people put this helpful service into use, said Ryan Vanden Bosch, assistant vice president of the Avera Primary Care Service Line. Weve used it for about a year, and were seeing new users save their spot in line each day.

Once youve saved a spot in line, you can make your way to your closest urgent care facility. Sometimes, waiting at home instead of in a crowd can reduce stress.

When you have your spot saved, it can help, especially with kids who might be crying or fussy due to an earache or cold, Fechner said.

Avera Medical Minute: New Orthopedic Urgent Care At 77th And Louise Campus

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Maybe youre doing some work at home and fall off a ladder. Or maybe one of your kids twists an ankle during a soccer game.

Avera is now operating a new orthopedic urgent care center at its 77th and Louise campus in Sioux Falls.

This week, we spoke with Ryan Slaba with Avera Orthopedics about the injuries hes seeing now and will see as the weather gets warmer.

Ryan Slaba: They hit the front brake on accident and they do a superman over the handlebars. Theyll break their elbow or their wrist. I see a lot of rollerbladers falling and an outstretched hand breaking their wrist. Ankle fractures youll see sometimes of people just walking on the outside and their foot slips off the curb and they roll their ankle and they break the ankle sometimes. So we see a lot of simple things like that too. You always have the weekend warriors coming in and they injure themselves playing Basketball, Raquetball or something. Sioux Falls is seeing a lot of pickleball players now and Im seeing a lot of injuries with pickleball recently too.

Brian Allen: You know theres the old phrase that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. So what can folks be doing in advance to decrease the odds theyll get injured or decrease the odds their kids will get injured?

    Enhanced Care Clinic Reviews

One of the main clinics in Aurora, lots of traffic but most of the doctors there are very efficient in seeing people quickly. There is a Tim Horton’s attached to the building so if there is a long wait to see the walk-in doctor you can opt to get a text message when to come back and go for coffee in the meantime. The parking lot is a little on the small side and since its shared with a very busy restaurant it can fill up quickly. Luckily you can park across the street in the TD plaza if there is no room available. For older people they also have a hearing lab and hearing tests are free, which is good because hearing aids are very expensive.

To say that I love this office and my family doctor here is an understatement! The staff is kind and accommodating. My doctor is fabulous! Hes informative, knowledgeable, comforting, kind, down to earth and tells it to you straight which I love! He is amazing with my daughter and has been her doctor since birth. Love this clinic! 10/10 Recommend!

This wonderful place is beyond words can describe! The doctor who helped me today was just a wonderful, kind man. He was so knowledgeable and helped me right away in a timely manner. The staff is incredible, especially these two great girls Saeah and Lori. Thank you for all the care you give us. God bless.

Avera Medical Group Family Health Center Reviews

Love what they are doing. An emergency and urgent care in 1 and they will direct you if you need whixh one. Alot of people think emergency room for everything but this urgent care has saved myself and my wife alot of time.

I was experiencing some eye pain. I was referred to Dr. Dragster Buy a family physician. Dr. Drasyer was able to fit me in within a short time. He was knowledgeable and thorough. He was able to diagnose and treat my situation. He explained things well to both my husband and myself. His follow up was great and I felt that I was in safe hands. In fact I was so pleased with Dr. Draayer, That I switched all of my vision care needs to his office. Reception was exceptional as well.

Dr. Eich has been the BEST doctor for our daughter. She is one of many physicians on my daughters care team and she makes sure there is thorough communication for all of the problems. We will only see Dr. Eich and her amazing nurses!!

Avera Medical Minute: Orthopedic Urgent Care

Ruth Moen, DPM – Avera Orthopedics in Sioux Falls, SD

    SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –

Erik Thorstenson is joined by a physician assistant from Avera Orthopedics to talk about getting urgent care for an injury.

Erik: Ryan Slaba, physician assistant with Avera Orthopedics joins us, Ryan thanks for joining us today. Ryan what is Orthopedic Urgent Care?

Ryan: “Orthopedic Urgent Care is kind of designed more for that injury that happens and you don’t know where to go. It’s the same type of thing where you are walking off a curb, you roll your ankle and it’s like ‘oh shoot’, where do I go? It’s for that injury that you don’t plan on happening. And life happens and it’s nice you can get in to be seen, be evaluated, and kind of get some treatment that same day. So it’s a walk in clinic where you can evaluated and treated, and hopefully get your way back to rehab to get back to your activities. It’s kind of nice we offer x-rays, splinting options, cast options. A lot of times if we need an injection of some sort we can do that as well. So it’s kind of nice you can walk in be seen the same day. When you can’t get in to see your primary care doctor or even one of our orthopedic specialists.

Erik: What are some of the common types of injuries that you see?

Erik: And you don’t need to make an appointment, you can just come in.

Ryan: “That’s correct. You show up and you are seen and we try to get you in as fast at possible get your treatment started. And we try to get you a diagnosis that day and again no appointment needed just call in.”

Home More News Pipestone County Medical Center Welcomes April Labat, CNP

PIPESTONE, MN Pipestone County Medical Center and Family Clinic Avera is excited to welcome a new orthopedic provider to its medical staff. April Labat, CNP, began at PCMC on February 28, 2022, after spending the last three years with Sanford Orthopedics as a nurse practitioner working in an orthopedic clinic. Labat has 12 years of nursing experience, and with her arrival, PCMCs orthopedic services will be significantly enhanced to provide onsite orthopedic coverage Monday-Friday.

Labat grew up in Renner, SD, and went to college at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD before attending Spring Arbor University in Spring Arbor, MI .

My decision to go into the healthcare field was driven by the desire to make a difference in someones life each day, said Labat. Whether that difference is large or small, by providing education or direct care, it all holds significant meaning. This desire has been a leading force in continuing my education to become a nurse practitioner. As a nurse practitioner, I found great satisfaction in helping patients by providing specialized care, she added.

The best thing about my job is hearing about positive outcomes from patients. I love to know that patients are doing well with their treatment plans and that what we did or recommended is providing an improved quality of life, Labat said.

    Allaura Medical Centre Reviews

    Miranda Renfrow, DO

I just wanted to say this has been the best family practice I have ever been too. Since I have joined the receptionist Amanda and Victoria have been gracious, kind, and really welcoming. My daughter joined first and recommended I move over when I was having issues with my then family practice I have not regretted the decision at all.My family doctor Dr Elserafy is one of the best. He is very empathetic and kind. Takes everything you say seriously and treats you as a family. I would recommend this family practice and this amazing doctor to everyone

This was my go-to walk in clinic for years until I finally decided to switch & make it my family practice as well. That’s how good they are.Their reception staff are always on the ball, their email system is impressive, and the clinic space is immaculate with air cleaners in every room. As you’ll see in other reviews they have a reputation for quickly and kindly figuring out issues that have been ignored elsewhere.I grew up in Aurora and I recommend this clinic above all others in town, and I’ve been to them all believe me.

Sanford Health Announces $210m In Construction In Sioux Falls Area

SIOUX FALLS Sanford Health on Tuesday unveiled plans to build $210 million of construction projects in the Sioux Falls area including two new clinics and an orthopedics hospital.

The bulk of the construction effort is a $160 million expansion of its orthopedics facilities, adding two floors to the Van Demark building at its main hospital campus in Sioux Falls and an adjacent 163,000-square-foot orthopedics hospital, planned to open in 2023.

The new construction is a direct challenge to cross-town competitors Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital and Avera Health, which in October opened a specialty hospital with an orthopedics component on its new Avera on Louise campus in southwest Sioux Falls.

Weve had a strong investment in the Sioux Falls market for years. Were not going to go away from that. Were going to continue to make our investments in orthopedic medicine, said Paul Hanson, president of Sanford Sioux Falls. Were going to make investment in care models that perhaps are more efficient or perhaps offer new types of treatment that are not offered elsewhere. Were going to be in the forefront of that. Our medical staff is committed to that.

The three-year construction effort will also add clinics to the fastest-growing parts of the Sioux Falls metro: its east side and the nearby town of Harrisburg as well as 16 additional rooms to the Sanford Heart Hospital.

Both clinic sites include additional space that will allow the facilities to grow as needed, Hanson said.
